Principal Economist, SANDAG

Naomi Young is a Principal Economist with SANDAG (San Diego Association of Governments). She has over 20 years of experience in the US and Australia, bringing economic insight to economic development, natural resource management, and strategies to promote economic competitiveness. At SANDAG, she leads a team of economists focused on San Diego’s economy, supporting short and long-term forecasting, quantifying the economic impacts of transportation infrastructure, and characterizing the importance of being part of a bi-national economy. Ms. Young has a MS in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in Economics and Applied Econometrics from the University of Delaware.
